The parade, held within the capital, Delhi, went via the avenue of Kartavya Path (Path of Responsibility), previously generally known as the Rajpath, which connects many necessary landmarks within the metropolis. It culminated on the Purple Fort, a seventh Century monument, about 7km (4.3 miles away).
