After its break up with FIFA, EA Sports is now only a couple of weeks away from launching its football game with a new, cumbersome name: EA Sports FC 24.

Player ratings for FC 24 are currently being revealed on a daily basis, and we know that Erling Haaland will share the top spot with three other players… but what about everything else?

When is the game’s official release date, and how many different editions of EA Sports FC 24 will be available?

And will there a big different with the game not having the FIFA name?

Here’s everything you need to know about the launch.

When does EA Sports FC 24 come out? Release date

EA Sports FC 24’s release date is Friday, September 29 2023.

It will be available on all formats, including Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC.

If you just can’t wait until then, FC 24 will be available through early access starting September 22, if you pre-order the more expensive Ultimate Edition.

EA Sports FC 24 will also be playable a week before its launch if you have an EA Play Pro subscription. So, if you’re not sure if you want to buy the game, you can play the game for up to 10 hours in the week before it launches through EA Play’s trial offer.

How much will EA Sports FC 24 cost?

EA’s newest football game will cost £69.99 on PlayStation and Xbox (both current gen and last gen), £59.99 on PC, and £54.99 on Nintendo Switch.

That means you’ll be able to play FC 24 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, PC, and mobile.

The mobile game, EA Sports FC Mobile, is a toned-down version of the game and will be available from September 26 as a free-to-play title. If you already have the app you just need to update it once the game has been released to get the newer version.

What do you get when pre-ordering EA Sports FC 24?

As always, EA adds perks to pre-orders to entice players into buying the more expensive version.

This year, if you pre-order EA Sports FC 24 on PlayStation, Xbox or PC, you can choose between the standard version or the ultimate version.

The standard version includes one Cover Star loan player item for 10 games, two Ambassador loan player items for five games, one Clubs Unlocked PlayStyles slot and more, but no early access.

If you go big and choose the ultimate version, you get the same perks as the standard version, but also seven days early access, 4,600 FC points, access to Ultimate Team Campaigns, a TOTW1 Ultimate Team player item, and an Ultimate Team loan player for 24 matches.

What game modes will feature on EA Sports FC 24?

FC 24 will offer the modes you’d expect: Career Mode, Ultimate Team, Clubs, and its FIFA Street interpretation VOLTA FOOTBALL.

Will the World Cup be in EA Sports FC 24?

No. A consequence of EA’s split with FIFA is that the former doesn’t have the licensing rights to use the World Cup in its newest game.

Seeing that the previous World Cup was in December 2022 and is already included in FIFA 22, and the next World Cup doesn’t kick off until July 2026, this shouldn’t be an issue for a while.
