Sports Interactive’s newest football manager sim has been received well by fans and critics so far, making up for the disappointment of last year’s game.
Studio boss Miles Jacobson admitted to GameCentral that they ‘dropped the ball’ on Football Manager 2023, but they’ve redeemed themselves this year with one of the best Football Manager games in a long time, with a host of new features.
Once you get to grips with the new features, and have set up your game, it’s time to find all the wonderkids – young players with the greatest potential – because knowing who blossoms into top players is key for any half serious manager.
Just to cover all bases, we’ll explain what constitutes a wonderkid (we’ll get to the list very shortly, so don’t skip ahead).
A wonderkid is a player who’s no older than 20 years old when you start the save and has a Potential score of at least 150 out of 200.
Each player in Football Manager has a Media Description, and this can change between wonderkid and other descriptions as the player evolves. To make this process even more intricate, Football Manager 2024 has added a new feature so that players can now develop at different stages in their careers, with some turning into good players later than others.
Part of the fun of playing Football Manager is to find these wonderkids and try to develop them to their fullest potential, or if you’re more cynical you might look to sell them on for a huge profit a few years down the line, Dortmund-style.
