The ICMR can also be working to develop its community of BSL-3 and BSL-4 laboratories to strengthen diagnostic infrastructure and improve entry to laboratory companies throughout the nation, Rajiv Bahl, Director-Common, ICMR, stated at a press convention earlier this week outlining the council’s imaginative and prescient for well being analysis in India.
Dr. Bahl stated the federal government has undertaken varied interventions to strengthen and advance public well being analysis in India. “As a part of these ongoing interventions, ICMR has labored to streamline its Intramural Analysis Programme funding to strengthen analysis on varied precedence well being points. It has additionally labored to develop funding below its Extramural Analysis Programme to reinforce funding for analysis on vaccines, medicine, illness diagnostics, and coverings for stronger public well being methods,” he stated.
He stated that with the launch of the Nationwide Well being Analysis Programme, the ICMR would even be collaborating on massive multi-stakeholder research with nationwide and State-level Departments of Well being and Household Welfare on 12 key well being areas, together with infectious illnesses, non-communicable illnesses, baby well being and diet, and producing crucial proof for strengthening well being interventions on these points.
